Afreena Suhaimi, wife of Malaysian comedian Along Cham, filed a police report alleging she was scammed out of RM95,180 by an individual who promised to help reduce her husband's criminal charges.
The Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, confirmed the receipt of a report filed by Afreena Suhaimi , the wife of comedian Along Cham , regarding allegations of a RM95,180 fraud. The report concerns a case of fraud involving an offer of assistance with changing the charge section in court. The suspect is a 28-year-old woman.
Investigations revealed that last December, the victim met the suspect to discuss her husband's problems and was offered assistance in reducing the severity of the charges. The suspect met with the victim several times, assuring her that she could help resolve the issue. Convinced, the victim made payments totaling RM95,180 into two bank accounts provided by the suspect. However, after making the payments, the victim discovered that the suspect had not fulfilled the promised assistance and subsequently filed a report. As a result, police opened an investigation file under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which is being investigated by the Selangor Commercial Crime Investigation Department (JSJK). Datuk Hussein Omar Khan urged the public to be cautious of any offers and to consult authorities before taking any further action. Earlier, media reported that Afreena filed a police report yesterday after claiming to be defrauded by an individual involving RM95,180. Through an Instagram post, Afreena also stated that she was confident that the truth would emerge after the report was filed. Along, whose real name is Muhammad Nizamudin Ahmad, 42, had previously claimed that his wife misappropriated almost RM100,000 in public donations received from fellow artists
