Actor and comedian Along Cham was granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal (DNAA) for possessing cannabis but was immediately re-charged with two counts of possessing and administering drugs in the Magistrates' Court.

Actor and comedian Muhammad Nizamuddin Ahmad, better known as Along Cham , was granted a discharge not amounting to an acquittal ( DNAA ) by the Sessions Court in Sepang on a charge of possessing cannabis. However, he was immediately re-charged in the Magistrates' Court with two counts of possessing and administering drugs. The judge, Ahmad Fuad Othman, ruled that the charge against Muhammad Nizamuddin under Section 39A (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1952 be DNAA .

He then directed that the accused be re-charged in the Magistrates' Court with amended charges. Earlier, the deputy public prosecutor, Nurul Faraheen Yahya, had requested the transfer of the case to the Magistrates' Court for charges under Section 39A (1) of the ADB 1952, following the chemical analysis report. Muhammad Nizamuddin was initially charged at the Sessions Court on December 20, 2024, for possessing a suspected cannabis substance weighing 58.23 grams at his residence in Cyberjaya. Today, in the Magistrates' Court, Muhammad Nizamuddin pleaded not guilty to two charges of possessing cannabis and administering drugs into his body on the same date. The first charge relates to the possession of 49.61 grams of cannabis at a house in Cyberjaya at 3.10 pm on December 14, 2024. This charge is framed under Section 6 ADB 1952 and is punishable under 39(a)(1) of the same law. The second charge alleges that he administered a dangerous drug, suspected to be tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), at 10 pm on December 14, 2024, at the Sepang district police headquarters. This charge is framed under Section 15(1)(a) ADB 1952, read with 38B of the same law, carrying a fine of up to RM5,000, imprisonment of up to two years, and supervision of not less than two years and not more than three years.Deputy public prosecutor Mohamed Wafi Husain proposed a bail of RM8,000 for Muhammad Nizamuddin on both charges. However, his lawyer, Kamal Hisham Jaafar, appealed for a lower bail of RM4,000 on various grounds. Magistrate Muhammad Bukhori Md Ruslan then set the bail at RM3,500 for the first charge and RM1,500 for the second, with one surety for each charge
