Deputy Defense Minister visits Sabah and Labuan to ensure security and military readiness

Deputy Defense Minister Adly Zahari visits Sabah and Labuan to inspect military camps and assess the needs of the Malaysian Armed Forces for security and national border sovereignty.

KOTA KINABALU: The issue of security and the needs of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) in ensuring readiness and national border sovereignty were the main agenda of Deputy Defense Minister Adly Zahari's working visit to the operational areas in Sabah and Labuan recently. The five-day visit, which began on January 23, also involved inspections of development projects and upgrading works of military camps carried out by the ministry for the convenience and welfare of security personnel.

Adly said that several aspects will be given priority this year for this purpose, in line with the ministry's increased budget, such as the improvement of radar systems, communication systems, and control posts at the border. He added that the government will assess the operational positions to ensure the needs of the Malaysian Army, Royal Malaysian Navy, Royal Malaysian Air Force, and Joint Task Force 2 (ATB 2) can be met
