TAIPEI, Feb ‌5 (Reuters) - Taiwan's ‌Foxconn on Thursday flagged ‌strong expectations for its first quarter performance, ‍after reporting a ‍35.5% year-on-year ‌rise in January revenue.

JOHOR BAHRU : The Johor Islamic Religious Department has identified eight deviant religious groups that are currently inactive but are being monitored closely. State Islamic Affairs Committee chairman Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid said the groups under surveillance include Hizbut Tahrir , Syiah , Wahabi , Milah Abraham , Si Hulk , GISBH , Qadiani , and The Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light.

He noted that while these groups are currently inactive, the state government remains vigilant to prevent any potential resurgence. Mohd Fared clarified that there has not been a sudden wave of new unidentified cults or groups in the state. “These eight major groups remain under close watch. The director, the Mufti and all relevant authorities never rest,” he said during a ceremony at the Iskandar Islamic Centre on Thursday . He stressed that members of outlawed groups in Johor have faced strict legal measures, with some already sentenced while others remain on trial. Mohd Fared reiterated that these sects will not be permitted to operate or spread their ideologies within the state. Addressing the recent reappearance of"Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light" posters in Muar, he confirmed the materials were immediately removed. Local authorities are currently investigating the situation in the district to ensure the group does not establish a foothold. The public has been urged to cooperate by reporting any suspicious activities that contradict established Islamic tenets. Mohd Fared encouraged citizens to report unusual media or video clips to local JAINJ branches or through mainstream media channels. He assured the public that all reports would be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly by the department.
