Approximately 20 million Muslims in this country are advised not to overspend during the Aidilfitri celebration as it is not a tradition to indulge in extravagance. The President of the Malaysian Ulama Association (PUM), Datuk Wan Mohamad Sheikh Abd Aziz, said that Muslims are required to celebrate Aidilfitri in a joyful atmosphere through various ways and approaches. The main focus, he said, is to strengthen the bond of kinship through visiting activities, praying for each other, and remembering one another. In reality, we want to express our happiness because we have successfully gone through the Ramadan school that can generate spiritual strength to face the next 11 months until Allah allows us to meet Ramadan again.
PETALING JAYA: Kira-kira 20 juta umat Islam di negara ini dinasihatkan tidak berbelanja melebihi kemampuan kerana sambutan Aidilfitri bukanlah satu sunnah untuk bermewah-mewah.
“Hakikatnya, kita mahu zahirkan kegembiraan kerana kita telah berjaya melalui satu proses madrasah Ramadan yang boleh menjana kekuatan kerohanian untuk berdepan dengan 11 bulan berikutnya sehingga Allah izinkan kita bertemu semula dengan Ramadan akan datang. Justeru, Wan Mohamad yang juga Timbalan Pengerusi Institut Kefahaman Islam Malaysia berkata, orang ramai perlu berbelanja secara berhemah dan elakkan sebarang elemen pembaziran.
Dalam pada itu, Timbalan Dekan, Sekolah Perniagaan dan Ekonomi Universiti Putra Malaysia , Profesor Madya Ts. Dr. Anuar Shah Bali Mahomed berkata, umat Islam disaran berbelanja mengikut keperluan pada sambutan Aidilfitri kali ini.
