The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has intensified its program for the disposal of abandoned and dilapidated vehicles by appointing Car Medic Sdn. Bhd. as the primary operator. This collaboration, established through a tender process, aims to streamline towing, storage, and disposal operations, making them more systematic and efficient. Car Medic will manage the entire supply chain, including logistics, storage facilities, and sustainable disposal methods. The program initially focused on DBKL public housing areas, where over 1,100 abandoned vehicles were recorded. As of early April, 768 vehicles have been disposed of, with a target of 1,200 for the year. DBKL warns of enforcement actions and penalties, including compounds up to RM500 plus towing and daily storage fees, for non-compliant owners. The partnership is expected to expedite the disposal process, particularly for voluntarily surrendered vehicles, though legal interventions remain a challenge. The Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories) encourages greater public participation in the initiative.

"Car Medic juga terlibat dalam pelaksanaan program ini, termasuk membantu pemilik melengkapkan proses pelupusan dengan lebih cepat dan teratur,"Auto Recycling World Beliau berkata, bagi tempoh tiga bulan pertama, program tersebut memberi tumpuan kepada kawasan perumahan awam DBKL yang merekodkan lebih 1,100 kenderaan tersadai setakat Mac lalu. Sehingga awal April tahun ini, sebanyak 768 kenderaan telah dilupuskan, manakala DBKL menyasarkan sekitar 1,200 kenderaan dapat diselesaikan sepanjang tahun ini. Dalam masa sama, DBKL memberi amaran bahawa tindakan penguatkuasaan akan dikenakan terhadap pemilik yang gagal memberikan kerjasama. "Jika gagal patuh, pemilik perlu jelaskan kompaun sehingga RM500 selain kos tunda dan caj simpanan harian sebelum kenderaan boleh dituntut,"Tambah beliau, kehadiran Car Medic dilihat mampu mempercepatkan proses pelupusan yang sebelum ini berdepan kekangan tertentu. "Dengan adanya Car Medic, proses pelupusan secara sukarela lebih mudah, tetapi cabaran utama adalah terhadap kenderaan yang perlu diambil tindakan undang-undang,"Sementara itu, Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri , Hannah Yeoh berharap lebih ramai penduduk tampil menyertai program pelupusan berkenaan. "Ini antara pembaharuan penting DBKL untuk selesaikan masalah harian warga kota secara berperingkat,"DBKL menegaskan bahawa kerjasama bersama Car Medic akan terus diperkukuh bagi memastikan pelupusan kenderaan tersadai dilaksanakan secara lebih cekap, tersusun dan mampan.
