The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) has seized four containers of frozen chicken wings valued at approximately RM1.5 million due to discrepancies between the declared contents and the actual consignment. The seizure occurred during a joint operation at the Sepangar Bay Container Port in Kota Kinabalu.
PETALING JAYA: Four containers of frozen chicken wings have been seized by the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency after the contents of the consignment did not match the declared information.
The agency, in a statement on Friday , said that the seizures were made during a joint operation led by AKPS at the Sepangar Bay Container Port in Kota Kinabalu on Friday .
“The inspection, conducted at 2.10pm, led to the discovery of the four containers that contained chicken wings. It is estimated that it carried 80,000 kilograms of frozen meat, valued at approximately RM1.5mil,” it said.
“The case is currently under further investigation, and enforcement action will be taken in accordance with the relevant laws. “AKPS remains committed to ensuring the country’s border control is maintained and to combating any form of trade irregularities at entry points into the country,” it said.
