Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is set to host Pavilion Loves Sustainability from 5 to 10 May 2026, introducing Malaysia’s first shopping centre EcoHub. The initiative, in partnership with SWCorp Malaysia, focuses on circular economy thinking, responsible textile disposal, and interactive sustainability experiences. Through advanced waste technology, thematic storytelling, and brand collaborations, the campaign aims to make sustainability accessible and rewarding for shoppers.
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is taking a bold step forward in its sustainability journey, proving that meaningful change comes from tangible action rather than just words.
From 5 to 10 May 2026, the mall will host Pavilion Loves Sustainability, its most interactive edition yet, transforming Centre Court into a hub for circular economy thinking, responsible textile disposal, and everyday sustainable practices. This year’s campaign marks a pivotal moment with the signing of a formal partnership with SWCorp Malaysia and the unveiling of Malaysia’s first shopping centre EcoHub, an immersive space designed to turn sustainability into a lived experience.
The EcoHub is built around three core pillars: Waste Technology, Interactive Sustainability Experience, and Public Awareness through Thematic Storytelling & Behavioural Change. Advanced solutions like Reverse Vending Machines (RVM) allow shoppers to deposit recyclables such as PET bottles and aluminium cans, earning rewards redeemable via the RVMplus app. Smart Recycling Bins for paper, plastics, and cartons further streamline waste collection, while digital displays and immersive storytelling elements educate visitors on sustainable practices.
The EcoHub also employs a dynamic, story-driven approach to foster long-term behavioural change, connecting daily actions to broader environmental impacts. Shoppers who participate in recycling initiatives are rewarded with cash-equivalent credits, creating a closed-loop system that aligns individual efforts with national sustainability goals. The campaign also introduces LifeLine Clothing Malaysia as a textile recycling partner, with Upcycle4Better donation bins installed to promote responsible textile disposal and extend the lifecycle of pre-loved clothing.
Puan Nor Rejina Binti Abdul Rahim, Board of Director at Pavilion REIT, emphasized that sustainability is an ongoing journey, with Pavilion Loves Sustainability now in its fourth year, reflecting the mall’s commitment to making sustainability practical and engaging for shoppers. The initiative also features sustainability-themed displays, booths, and workshops across Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, where brands like L’Occitane, GANNI, Mulberry, and Aveda showcase their commitment to conscious living through hands-on experiences in sustainable beauty, fashion, and upcycling.
These activations, including workshops and giveaways at Centre Court and the Spanish Steps, aim to inspire shoppers to adopt more sustainable habits in their daily lives
