Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) through its TaHa Club organized the first-ever TaHa Cilik Storytelling Competition to discover the talents of young storytellers.
Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) through its TaHa Club, for the first time, hosted the TaHa Cilik Story Telling Competition to unearth the artistic storytelling talents of children. Executive Director of TH Operations, Mohamed Ameen Abdul Wahab said the competition, which started last June, received a warm response, especially through social media platforms. He said the competition received participation from TaHa Club children nationwide, aged seven to 12 years old.
‘The first-ever storytelling competition has successfully helped children improve their language and communication skills, hone their imagination and creativity, and build confidence to speak in front of a crowd. TH through TaHa Club is always committed to organizing programs and activities that can provide lasting benefits to its members,’ he said in a statement today. The TaHa Cilik Story Telling Competition was organized to foster children’s interest in unraveling the stories of the prophets. It continued through several stages before the top 10 participants were selected to join the final round to deliver a performance themed ‘Sirah Nabi’. Adding to that, Mohamed Ameen said the competition was an initiative to encourage more parents to open accounts with TH, thereby automatically gaining TaHa Club membership. Meanwhile, the competition champion, Zufar Nabih Mohd Fadizan, 12, said the victory was a blessing for his first participation in the storytelling category. He said his efforts with three daily training sessions finally paid off when he managed to win RM1,000 in cash, a vacation package and exclusive souvenirs. ‘I am very happy and grateful for this victory. Endless thanks to my parents who are my main advisors and coaches who always train me tirelessly.
