The camp of Jakarta gubernatorial candidate Pramono Anung and his running mate Rano Karno has declared a single-round victory, citing results from the Jakarta Elections Commission and manual tabulation forms. They claim to have received over 50% of the votes, with 2.18 million votes, which is nearly 3,000 votes above the threshold needed for a single-round win. Their rivals, Ridwan Kamil and Suswono, have not conceded defeat and are waiting for the final vote count.

He claimed that the pair had won more than 50 per cent of the total valid votes from Wednesday’s election day with 2.18 million votes. “Thank God, with all gratitude, we can declare that the candidate with ballot No. 3 has won the Jakarta gubernatorial election in a single round,” Pramono said in a live-broadcast press briefing on Thursday.

“People of Jakarta, let’s continue to wait until the final and official decision. If there’s indeed a runoff, let’s communicate again. We’ll hear your aspirations,” said the former West Java governor.
