The Sarawak State Education Department (JPN Sarawak) has initiated an internal investigation to examine compliance with safety aspects at a secondary school in Daro following an incident in which a student died from electrocution. The area where the incident occurred has been cordoned off, and students, teachers, and the entire school community are prohibited from approaching the area until it is confirmed to be safe.

Matu Daro District Police chief DSP Rahim Mihos reported that a Form Four student died while another Form Three student was seriously injured after they were believed to have suffered electric shocks while attempting to perform ablution at a secondary school in Daro, Mukah Division, yesterday.
The Form Three student who sustained serious injuries was rushed to Daro Hospital before being referred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Sibu Hospital
