LONDON, April 15 (Reuters) - Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta said he was hugely grateful to his players for the boost they had given the club after a gritty ‌1-0 aggregate win over Sporting Lisbon on Wednesday earned them a place in the Champions League semi-finals.

LAHAD DATU : Sabah is planning to establish Lahad Datu as a satellite or rocket launch centre for Southeast Asia within the next few years, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor .

He said final studies conducted by the state government and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia indicate the district has strong potential for such a facility. “God willing, in the next few years, if there are no obstacles, Lahad Datu will be the best location to serve as a satellite rocket launch centre for Southeast Asia,” he said on Thursday .

Hajiji said if the project materialises in the next two to three years, it would attract space scientists and visitors, serving as a major economic catalyst for the district.

Speaking at a thanksgiving and Hari Raya open house here, he noted that while many states have lobbied for the site, studies show Lahad Datu as the most suitable location.

The Chief Minister added that the state government remains committed to bringing development to Lahad Datu while prioritising the well-being of its residents. “I had intended several times to visit Lahad Datu, especially before the last election. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, I was unable to campaign here,” he said.

Looking ahead to next year's parliamentary elections, Hajiji urged the people to remain united and choose the government party for the common good. “We have a clear direction for the people and have achieved many successes in this state,” he said, calling on the public to differentiate truth from slander.
