Ikano Centres, the developer behind IKEA-anchored shopping centres, announces the upcoming launch of two dedicated dining hubs: IPC Gourmet Hall in IPC Shopping Centre and Toppen Foodland in Toppen Shopping Centre, both scheduled to open in December 2026. These developments aim to enhance the dining experience and create social spaces for the community.
Ikano Centres , a division of Ikano Retail and the developer behind IKEA-anchored shopping centres, is excited to announce the forthcoming launch of two innovative dining hubs : IPC Gourmet Hall at IPC Shopping Centre and Toppen Foodland at Toppen Shopping Centre . Both are scheduled to open their doors to the public in December 2026.
This strategic expansion underscores Ikano Centres' commitment to enhancing the dining experience within its centres and creating dynamic social spaces that foster community connections and everyday moments of enjoyment. The company recognizes the central role food plays in Malaysian culture and daily life, and the introduction of these dedicated dining destinations reflects a keen understanding of local preferences and a desire to provide diverse and appealing culinary options.\IPC Gourmet Hall is envisioned as a refined yet welcoming dining space. It will feature a carefully curated selection of flavors and cuisines designed to appeal to a broad range of tastes. The design prioritizes creating an atmosphere that encourages shoppers to relax, savor moments of quiet enjoyment, and connect with others over good food. Construction is planned to commence in April 2026, with the completed hall boasting a total Gross Leasable Area of 43,000 square feet and housing 39 distinct outlets. The architectural design will incorporate indoor greenery and plants, complemented by earthy and calming color schemes to foster a warm and inviting atmosphere. The contemporary aesthetic blends sleek lines and neutral tones within an open-plan layout, enhancing accessibility and promoting a feeling of spaciousness. Furthermore, IPC Gourmet Hall will offer a variety of seating arrangements, catering to both communal interaction and private moments. These will include social tables for larger groups alongside quiet nooks for more intimate settings. Central island-style food counters will be strategically positioned to encourage engagement between patrons and the various food vendors, contributing to a lively and interactive dining experience.\In the southern region, Toppen Shopping Centre will introduce Toppen Foodland, a dining destination themed around the concept of 'New eats, new vibes.' This space is designed to be a vibrant social hub, bringing together a diverse array of cuisines and convenient quick dining options specifically tailored for the Johor community. Building on the recent addition of Jaya Grocer last August, the Ground Floor of Toppen Shopping Centre will undergo a further transformation to accommodate this new dining space, thus expanding the overall dining and lifestyle offerings available at the centre. Construction for Toppen Foodland is slated to begin in March 2026. It will encompass 35,000 square feet and will house 32 outlets, including both inline restaurants and Grab & Go kiosks designed to cater to various dining occasions. The interiors will feature a modern, industrial-inspired design. The addition of Toppen Foodland is anticipated to strengthen Toppen’s position as a prominent lifestyle destination for the diverse population of Johor. The overarching strategy for both locations hinges on leveraging IKEA as a key anchor tenant to create a fully integrated shopping environment. This strategy is designed to drive significant cross-shopping and customer flow throughout the centres, ultimately boosting footfall and the overall appeal of the retail mix. Adrian Mirea, Managing Director of Ikano Centres, emphasized the company’s dedication to creating a better everyday life for its customers, stating that the introduction of IPC Gourmet Hall and Toppen Foodland represents a commitment to building vibrant destinations that inspire and connect people. As an integral part of the Ikano Group, Ikano Centres remains committed to developing destinations that evolve alongside the changing lifestyles of today’s communities. These developments demonstrate Ikano Centres’ dedication to strengthening customer engagement while creating long-term value for its retail partners throughout the region.
