Perlis Chief Minister Abu Bakar Hamzah introduces the Perlis Mendengar Rintihan Rakyat program to directly hear and address public concerns across all 15 state constituencies. The initiative, organized by the Kangar Municipal Council, aims to provide a platform for residents to voice issues, particularly regarding infrastructure, flooding, and economic opportunities. The program began in Beseri, where residents highlighted drainage problems and the need for job creation.

Program dikelolakan oleh Majlis Perbandaran Kangar yang julung kali diadakan oleh kerajaan negeri di bawah pentadbiran Abu Bakar itu akan menjelajah di semua 15 Dewan Undangan Negeri di Perlis. Abu Bakar berkata, program tersebut menjadi platform dan membuka ruang kepada rakyat untuk menyuarakan secara terus apa jua masalah, isu, aduan dan cadangan kepada kerajaan negeri serta agensi-agensi berkaitan.
Katanya, destinasi pertama program berkenaan adalah di DUN Beseri dengan rata-rata penduduk meluahkan agar masalah berkaitan infrastruktur di kawasan itu perlu dipertingkatkan. Beliau berkata, isu infrastruktur khususnya seperti saliran longkang menyebabkan kawasan di sekitar Beseri sering dilanda banjir.
“Selain itu, penduduk juga menyuarakan keperluan agar kerajaan negeri menyediakan lebih banyak peluang pekerjaan dan sesuatu yang boleh memberi limpahan ekonomi kepada penduduk setempat,” katanya ketika ditemui selepas program Perlis Mendengar Rintihan Rakyat DUN Beseri di Dewan Seri Melati di sini semalam. Abu Bakar berkata, beliau sendiri akan turun di kesemua 15 DUN bersama ketua-ketua jabatan serta ADUN kawasan bagi mendengar rintihan dan masalah rakyat seterusnya mencari jalan penyelesaian kepada setiap permasalahan.
“Terima kasih kepada MPK yang menjadi urusetia kepada program yang cukup penting dalam mendekati rakyat secara lebih dekat itu. Kita akan mendengar segala rintihan selain menjiwai keluh kesah rakyat,” katanya. -UTUSAN
