Among the 27 items under the scheme, nine items will remain at the same price, while 14 items have recorded price reductions. A single item experienced a price increase, and one new item, chicken wings, has been added to the list. Detailed regional variations were also provided. In Sarawak, of the 23 listed items, eight remained unchanged, ten saw price reductions, three experienced price increases, and two new items were added. In Sabah, nine items remained at the same price, twelve recorded reductions, and two new items were introduced, while no items saw price increases. Similarly, the Federal Territory of Labuan saw eight unchanged items, eleven with price reductions, one with a price increase, and two new items added. The government assured the public that sufficient supplies had been secured for the Hari Raya period, urging against panic buying. The government has made advance preparations through close coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, wholesalers, producers, and retailers to guarantee adequate food supply throughout the celebrations. \The scheme encompasses a diverse range of essential items, including vegetables, spices, meats, and other staple goods commonly consumed during Aidilfitri. The list includes large yellow onions, large red onions, small red onions from India, garlic from China, curly dried chillies, red chillies, and imported old ginger. For meat, the scheme covers imported buffalo meat from India (controlled in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Federal Territory of Labuan), imported beef (controlled only in Sarawak), and local beef, excluding tenderloin (controlled in Peninsular Malaysia). Other items controlled under the scheme include split pigeon peas (dal) from Australia, long beans, peanuts, whole coconut, grated coconut, and coconut milk. Imported produce like round cabbage from Indonesia and China, carrots from China, green mustard, tomatoes, potatoes, ginger and more are included. Chicken wings are a newly added item. The initiative reflects the government's intention to alleviate the financial burden on consumers during the festive season, ensuring they can celebrate Aidilfitri without undue economic stress.
