LOS ANGELES, April 16 (Reuters) - Netflix Chairman Reed Hastings is leaving the streaming service he co-founded 29 years ago as the company regains its footing after it lost its $72 billion deal for Warner Bros Discovery.

GEORGE TOWN : The Road Transport Department will open bidding for a special registration number series bearing the “P_P” index in conjunction with its 80th anniversary celebrations.
Its director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli said the special series was introduced as a symbolic tribute to eight decades of the department’s role and contributions in developing Malaysia’s road transport sys-tem. He said the bidding period will begin on Monday and end at 10pm on April 24, with results to be announced within 24 hours. “Bidding is based on a minimum price, starting from RM20,000 for golden numbers, RM5,000 for premium numbers, RM2,500 for attractive numbers, RM500 for popular numbers and RM300 for regular numbers. “Nearly 50,000 previously unsold NPI series would also be offered at a 50% discount during Karnival Mega JPJ Madani at Stadium Batu Kawan from April 24 to 26,” he told a press conference after the launch of the “P_P” special series here yesterday. Aedy said the full list of available numbers, to be released later, can only be purchased on-site on April 26. On another matter, he said JPJ did not rule out the possibility of insider involvement in the alleged unauthorised ownership transfers of vehicles with unique registration numbers.“We have received complaints about such ownership transfers without the original owner’s consent. “However, each case will be examined in accordance with existing procedures and legal provisions,” he said. Aedy also said JPJ would assist affected parties and that any further action would depend on the findings of the investigation, as well as the processes involved in the ownership transfer.“The issue may not necessarily be due to data breaches alone but other factors, including procedures governing ownership transfers,” he said. Aedy added that JPJ could not simply revert the number to the original owner without a detailed investigation. Recently, a businessman alleged that the ownership of his luxury vehicle and the unique registration number “P111” were transferred to another party without his consent. The case was highlighted by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong.
