The national athletics coach, Manshahar Abdul Jalil, states that there are no medal targets set for the team at the Singapore Open. The focus is on evaluating athletes' strengths and weaknesses based on the training program, as this is the first competition of the 2026 season and part of the pre-competition phase. The team is using the event to assess performance, focusing on time and distance achieved, and preparing for larger international competitions.
