PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has organised the Malaysia Polygraph Seminar . The seminar, themed “The Role of Polygraph in Employment Screening ”, drew 60 participants from various enforcement agencies , statutory bodies, government-linked companies and industry players in polygraph technology.
MACC Academy deputy director of academics and basic training, Mohd Saud Ayutollah Abdul Manan, said the seminar strengthened knowledge and best practices in the field of polygraphy at the national level.
“The sharing of expertise and cross-agency experience such as this is hoped to continue in the future, while further strengthening strategic cooperation between agencies in efforts to combat crime, misconduct and integrity-related issues,” he said when officiating the closing ceremony at Dewan Tun Ismail, at the academy on Friday . Among the organisations represented were the Police, Armed Forces, Air Force, Customs Department, Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry, Immigration Department, Health Ministry, Universiti Teknologi Mara, Tenaga Nasional Bhd and XSpec Technology.
Speakers included Special Branch ASP Ahmad Shahrulazmi Mazni, Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department ASP Mohammad Firdaus Ashaari, MACC Polygraph Team coordinator Norhakimin Brahim and UiTM’s Dr Salwa Zolkaful. Earlier, the MACC also conducted a Basic Polygraph and Operational Support Course involving 17 MACC polygraph examiners at MACA from May 19 to 21. The training programme was conducted by criminologist Prof Datuk Seri Dr Akhbar Satar as well as MACC polygraph examiners Wan Mohd Firdaus Wan Yusof and Mohd Farid Ismai.
