Sabah PKR leadership changes have not affected their fight for state rights, which is a consistent party stance. Recent resignations include Amin Abdul Mem, Razeef Rakimin, and Artini Ali Taugan.
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah PKR said it remains committed to MA63 state rights while reorganising its leadership after the chiefs of Tuaran and Semporna resigned. Sabah PKR Information chief Ahmad Farid Sainuri said several vacant division posts were currently filled by deputies following resignations and departures from the party.
“The structure of our party organisation remains to carry the reformation agenda as set by Anwar,” he said in a statement on Sunday . He said this shift in leadership within the party will not affect their fight for state rights, as this is a matter the party has consistently worked on, and the agenda is also part of their party manifesto.
Ahmad said the leadership changes would not affect Sabah PKR’s state rights struggle under the Malaysia Agreement 1963, which he noted was part of the party manifesto. He described members quitting and joining as normal for any party organisation. He said state rights efforts were ongoing under the Madani government, with many initiatives for Sabah and Sarawak. He stated MA63 reformation achieved its best results, with 13 of 29 claims solved, including nine under the current administration.
Ahmad said the 40% net revenue entitlement issue had reached the government-to-government level, indicating continued progress.
