JEDDAH: Johor Darul Ta'zim's (JDT) hopes of becoming the first Malaysian club to reach the AFC Champions League (ACL) Elite semi-finals were dashed after a narrow 1-2 defeat to defending champions Al-Ahli on Friday (April 17).

From lavishly gem-set cases through Picolissimo-driven mechanical timepieces to architectural bracelets, the collection provides a rare glimpse into the depths of Bvlgari’s highly precious and remarkably creative world.Possibly recognisable as the most watch-like of the three new pieces, the Piccolissimo BVL 100 micro-movement powered 38mm round timepiece pays tribute to Rome’s night sky. The 18K white gold creation’s exceptionally complex, three-dimensional dial paints this picture with gemstones and precious metal, where a flying disc in black opal is offset by the star-studded sky of snow-set sapphires and diamonds.These gemstones in different cuts and hues expand the horizon all the way to the edge of the timepiece, encapsulated by a dome in sapphire crystal. Thanks to this tall crystal, the architecture and execution of this lavish and complex dial looks wonderful from every angle.With its 14mm white gold case and crown, and pavé-set diamonds on the dial with green hands, this watch uses a peacock motif, translating the bird into a sculptural bracelet set with diamonds and coloured gemstones arranged in a fan-like structure.This, incidentally, is inspired by the Roman art and the Baths of Caracalla, and a total of some 1,725 diamonds, rubellites and emerald have been used to complete each watch’s design! The Eclettica Pavone also features a fluid, fan-like structure with a hidden dial in the peacock’s head, powered by the ultra-thin Piccolissimo mechanical movement.The final piece in this collection sees the Maison utilising its iconic “Serpenti” snake design, with a geometric bracelet and a concealed dial. Crafted in a combination of white gold and yellow gold, it wraps one’s wrist like a precious snake – brilliant-cut diamonds across the head and tail, and a pear-cut emerald set for the serpent’s eyes.The head opens at the tongue to reveal a pavé-set diamond dial, seamlessly blending jewellery design with watchmaking finesse.
