Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, the Sultan of Selangor, has expressed his concern regarding the issue of pig farming operations near residential areas, citing numerous violations and their impact on public health. Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, also addressed the issue, stating that the lack of control over pig farming operations, especially those located near residential areas, has led to numerous violations and compromised public health.
PETALING JAYA: Pandangan dizahirkan Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah berhubung isu penternakan babi adalah berasas, susulan pelbagai keterlanjuran yang berlaku sehingga menjejaskan kesihatan awam.
Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim berkata, keadaan itu berlaku akibat kurang kawalan terhadap operasi penternakan termasuk yang dibangunkan berhampiran kawasan penempatan penduduk.
“Tuanku Sultan Selangor berkenan mengemukakan pandangan kerana apa yang berlaku sekarang terlalu banyak keterlanjuran, menjejaskan kesihatan awam dan kurang pengawalannya,” katanya dalam sidang akhbar penutup Sidang Kemuncak ASEAN Ke-48 di Cebu, Filipina hari ini
