According to Malaysian Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, 130 children rescued from an orphanage linked to GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) are still awaiting their parents to reclaim them. The main concern lies with parents fearing arrest upon retrieving their children due to police involvement in the case. The Ministry of Social Welfare has attempted to contact the parents but has received no responses.

“Mereka risau datang untuk menuntut anak kerana urusan itu melibatkan polis, tetapi sebenarnya yang ditahan itu ada kesalahan lain,“ katanya kepada pemberita selepas menyantuni mangsa banjir di pusat pemindahan sementara Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Tumpat 2 di sini, hari ini. “JKM perlu memulangkan kanak-kanak ini kepada ibu bapa mereka kerana ada tempoh tertentu yang ditetapkan mahkamah,” katanya menambah terdapat prosedur khas bagi menyerahkan kanak-kanak berkenaan.
