TENGKU Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz sidestepped questions on whether he will contest the Pandan parliamentary seat in the 16th General Election (GE16).
PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Armed Forces has been ordered by Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to first seek and obtain the Sultan of Pahang’s consent before conducting any planned military training activities in the state and its surrounding waters.
His Royal Highness said this comes amid concerns about a planned MAF military training activity to be carried out around the islands in Pahang, though none were named. In a statement from Istana Abdulaziz on Sunday , it said His Royal Highness' primary concern was that such military activities could disrupt the state’s local environment, ecosystem, flora and fauna.
“His Royal Highness does not oppose military activities aimed at enhancing the skills and experience of military officers and personnel. “However, such activities must be conducted in a controlled, responsible and safe manner, and in harmony with the environment and all parties involved,” it said. It also said His Royal Highness has further decreed that MAF and all parties must comply with and uphold the royal command.
“His Royal Highness will not hesitate to request the State Government to take appropriate action should there be any breach of procedure,” it added.

Anyone unhappy with the arrangement can share their views, but all party members should allow the leadership to manage the situation. Amirudin said that while space would be provided for anyone unhappy with the newly announced arrangement to share their views, all party members should allow the leadership to manage the situation.
