National cyclist Nur Aisyah Mohamad Zubir is preparing for the Asian Cycling Championships (ACC) in the Philippines next month, adapting her training schedule to accommodate Ramadan fasting. She emphasizes discipline in managing her training, nutrition, and rest to maintain peak performance during the holy month.

Gadis berusia 28 tahun itu berkata, Ramadan bukan penghalang untuk terus meningkatkan prestasi, sebaliknya dia menjadikan bulan puasa sebagai pecutan disiplin dalam rutin latihan dan persiapan fizikal. “Berlatih dalam bulan Ramadan memang ada cabarannya, terutama dari segi tenaga dan pemulihan badan. Namun saya sudah biasa mengurus latihan ketika berpuasa,” katanya. Aisyah yang memenangi emas dalam acara scratch wanita pada Sukan Sea Thailand 2025 berkata, jadual latihan disusun semula mengikut kesesuaian masa khususnya bagi latihan berintensiti tinggi. “Biasanya jadual latihan akan disesuaikan, contohnya latihan intensiti tinggi dibuat selepas berbuka supaya tenaga lebih mencukupi. “Selain itu, saya juga akan lebih menitikberatkan aspek pemakanan, hidrasi dan rehat supaya badan kekal dalam keadaan terbaik. Bagi saya, Ramadan bukan penghalang, cuma perlu pengurusan yang lebih disiplin,” katanya. Selain Aisyah, pelumba negara yang akan menggalas cabaran di ACC adalah Yeong Zhen Yi, Lau New Joe, Yusri Shaari dan Hafiq Mohd Jafri.
