PETALING JAYA: National mixed doubles shuttler Peck Yen Wei faces an anxious wait to see who will be her new partner.
Yen Wei is currently without a partner after her previous partner Chen Tang Jie was paired up with Yap Ling.
“Currently, my coaches have yet to decide on who will be my new partner. They want me to fully recover from my ankle injury first before having further discussions on this. I have started training on court and my ankle is about 60 to 70% healed. I think it will take another one or two weeks for it to be fully healed,” said Yen Wei.
So far, doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky and mixed doubles coach Teo Kok Siang have decided to pair up Tang Jie with Yap Ling and also Choong Hon Jian with Go Pei Kee. After that, Yen Wei had been reunited with Tang Jie, whom she had previously played with for more than four years prior to being split in May, for the World Championships at the end of August and Japan Open right after that and given a final opportunity to prove themselves together.
