A cold, wet, miserable afternoon was perhaps a fitting way for the Yankees to close out their home schedule in a disappointing season, but they did manage to beat Arizona, 6-4.

A run-scoring single by Everson Pereira made it a two-run game and Clay Holmes pitched a scoreless ninth for the save. Clarke Schmidt allowed two runs in four innings before Greg Weissert tossed a pair of scoreless innings. Oswald Peraza #91 of the New York Yankees is greeted by Estevan Florial #90 of the New York Yankees after he scores on his solo homer in the seventh inning.The Yankees tied the game with a two-run homer from Wells in the fourth.
It was Wells’ second homer in the majors, as the lefty-hitter blasted a shot into the bleachers in right-center.JASON SZENES FOR THE NEW YORK POST The Diamondbacks went ahead again in the seventh on a run-scoring single by Gabriel Morena before Oswald Peraza tied it in the bottom of the inning with a leadoff homer.
