Western Cape towns to remain without power until next Thursday, says Eskom

Power to Western Cape towns that have been without electricity since the weekend will only be fully restored by Thursday, 15 February, according to Eskom.

"All teams are on site working around the clock in a major repair operation that necessitated the need for specialised equipment and additional resources that have been acquired. Operators are currently securing and anchoring the existing line supported by local Eskom construction teams." The towns of Roggeveld, Laingsburg, Ladismith, Leeu-Gamka, Swartberg, Merweville, Matjiesfontein, Prince Albert, Fraserburg and surrounding areas have been without power since Saturday.
