Following a tragic accident on the North-South Expressway, Dr. Wee Ka Siong urges authorities to investigate the incident thoroughly and prevent future tragedies.
Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims involved in a tragic accident on the North-South Expressway near Ayer Keroh on Monday (Dec 23). Dr Wee stated on Facebook on Tuesday (Dec 24) that the incident is deeply saddening for all Malaysians. According to media reports, initial investigations suggest the accident was caused by the right front tyre of a lorry detaching and blocking the middle of the highway.
Dr Wee hopes that the relevant authorities will establish a task force or special team to thoroughly investigate this incident and prevent similar occurrences in the future. He highlighted a special report published by Sinar Harian on Tuesday (Dec 24) concerning fatal accidents involving heavy vehicles. The report revealed that a total of 825 fatal accidents involving lorries were recorded in the first 10 months of this year, with an average of three lorry accidents per day, according to Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri
