Jeffrey Dean Morgan teases TheWalkingDead spinoff crossover possibilities: 'I think the door is open because we are all on the same timeline. They are existing at the same time.'
Jeffrey Dean Morgan teases Maggie and Negan’s The Walking Dead: Dead City crossing over with other TWD spinoffs. The Walking Dead universe is set to expand in a huge way with three new spinoffs scheduled to arrive in the coming years. First up on the docket is this summer’s Dead City, which sends old adversaries Maggie and Negan to a zombie-infested New York City for an adventure that’s being touted as something brand new for the Walking Dead universe.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY But Maggie and Negan’s team-up show isn’t the end for the TWD spinoff action. Later in 2023, fans can look forward to Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon show set in France. Then in 2024, Rick and Michonne will reunite for their own show. But will any of these new spinoffs ever crossover? Nothing has been confirmed on that front. However, Negan actor Morgan just teased the possibility, telling E! Online that he thinks things are set-up for some crossover action.
"I think the door is open because we are all on the same timeline. They are existing at the same time. So I think there is the opportunity to bring a character from this show, a character from that show, and do something else that can continue."How Dead City Could Crossover With Other Walking Dead Spinoffs Right from the moment the full details on this latest round of Walking Dead spinoffs were revealed, there has seemed to be a natural crossover already set up.
As natural as a Dead City/Rick & Michonne crossover might seem, that’s how unlikely it seems that Daryl Dixon will ever crossover with either of the other new spinoffs. After all, with Daryl now headed to France for a new adventure, he will be geographically very far away from his old friends. Of course, there’s no guarantee that Daryl will never make his way stateside again.
How The Spinoffs Could Set Up A Proper Walking Dead Universe Endgame Just as years of Marvel movies set up one huge MCU endgame in the very literally-named Avengers: Endgame, the current crop of new Walking Dead spinoffs plus Fear the Walking Dead could be setting up a grand TWD universe finale. It’s indeed already known that answers are coming about the origins of the zombie plague, with Daryl set to perhaps encounter the very scientists who unleashed the apocalypse in the first place.
