Martin has shared details of one of the toughest days in his life as he had to continue working, despite receiving horrific news
The Weekend AM host was left devastated after he was told the news his wife and celebrity photographer Jenny McCarthy was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2010. She had surgery in 2011. But in 2022, she was dealt with another devastating blow when doctors told her they needed to remove a second brain tumour.

I remember getting the news back in 2010 that there was something in Jenny's head that shouldn't be there and yeah, I had to pull myself together and go in and present the show. That was probably one of my toughest days on TV or radio. That was pretty tough.
But he admitted his work did help him momentarily escape his troubles. "It was both an escape and there were days when it was tough.” He said Jenny has been “great” and doctors told her at her last scan that they are happy to only see her once a year, rather than every three months.
