A Victorian fisherman had to be rescued by police helicopter after becoming stranded on a tiny rock, hundreds of metres from shore. 9News
Vision filmed from a Police Air Wing shows the 56-year-old perched on top of the rocky outcrop as waves crash around him., on Sunday when he was trapped by the rising tide.
"The 56-year-old was about 200 meters from shore at Bear Gully at 3.30pm and was fishing for approximately four hours," police said.His companion called emergency services and he was winched to safety." was checked by paramedics but did not require any treatment". In the wake of the rescue, authorities have urged fishermen to be aware of water and weather conditions before setting out.
