“We feel pretty comfortable that we will be under ,” Allen said. “Some people are predicting the number to be 2,223, or somewhere around there.” Aledo’s enrollment has grown for 16 consecutive realignment cycles and by more than 1,000 students since 2004. Gone are the days when Aledo won its first state title as a 3A school in 1998.

Aledo’s last 10 state titles have all come in the UIL’s second-largest classification, with two in Division I and eight in Division II. Now, it could find itself competing with the likes of nine-time state champion Katy and eight-time state champion Southlake Carroll in the 6A Division II playoff bracket.
