PETALING JAYA: The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) received a shot in the arm after their men’s singles shuttler Ng Tze Yong and mixed doubles rising stars Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei were included in the Road to Gold (RTG) programme.

There was also good news for independent players as Lee Zii Jia and Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing will not be dropped although they are out of the top 10 in the world ranking.

World No. 21 Tze Yong and Tang Jie-Ee Wei , are seen with the potential to fight for Olympic qualification. The world ranking include all tournaments while Road to Paris ranking only include Olympics qualifying tournaments. “Datuk Lee and I have contacted both Zii Jia and Tat Meng to have a discussion with them on their plan and programme,” said Stuart.
