A tragic accident involving three vehicles on the Kuala Krai-Gua Musang road claimed the lives of two people and left two others seriously injured. The collision, which occurred on Friday afternoon, involved two cars and a five-tonne lorry. Rescue personnel swiftly responded to the scene, extracting the victims from the wreckage. Two occupants of a smaller car were pronounced dead at the scene, while two women from the same vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
KOTA BARU: Two people were killed and two others seriously injured in a multi-vehicle accident on the Kuala Krai-Gua Musang road, near Sungai Sam, Kuala Krai, on Friday afternoon (Feb 7). Kuala Krai Fire and Rescue Station operations chief Razani Mamat said the collision involved two cars and a five-tonne lorry. 'The two fatalities were in the smaller car, comprising a man and a woman, while two other passengers in the same car sustained serious injuries,' he said when contacted on Friday.
'Meanwhile, the woman driving the larger car and the lorry driver escaped uninjured,' he added. Razani said they received an emergency call at 4:50 pm before dispatching nine personnel to the accident site. 'Upon arrival, we immediately commenced rescue operations to extricate the trapped victims, and two victims in the smaller car were pronounced dead at the scene,' he said. Razani stated that the two seriously injured women were transported to Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital in Kuala Krai for further medical attention. - Bernam
