Police in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, rescued two disabled Chinese nationals who were allegedly exploited as beggars. A 67-year-old local man was arrested for transporting the victims to beg at night markets and eateries, earning an estimated RM50 to RM150 per day. The rescued individuals have been placed in a shelter for 21 days, while the suspect faces a five-day remand. The case is under investigation under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act (ATIPSOM) 2007.
