Two celebrities, activist among GTA candidates for GE15, says Dr Mahathir

GERAKAN Tanah Air unveiled its slate for the 15th general election , which included local celebrities Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nadzri and Eizlan Yusof, and road safety activist Lando Zawawi among the 120 candidates. Dr Mahathir said Ahmad Idham will contest in Port Dickson, Eizlan in Sabak Bernam, and Lando in Tanjung Karang.
The candidates are part of the Gagasan Bangsa coalition of civil societies but will run under the Pejuang banner. “We have 120 candidates but with some unlikely to be given watikah by their parties, we can expect the figure to exceed 120. Dr Mahathir said he will defend the Langkawi seat, his son will again contest in Jerlun while Amiruddin Hamzah will defend the Kubang Pasu seat he won in 2018.
However, Shahruddin Md Salleh will not defend Seri Gading, which he won during the last general election and instead will contest in Kuala Krau. Pejuang’s allies in GTA are Putra, Iman, and Berjasa Dr Mahathir said all the GTA candidates will use the Pejuang logo except in Kelantan where they will use the Putra symbol. – November 2, 2022.
