KOTA KINABALU: A former footballer has been named as the latest candidate to stand for Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) in the 15th General Election.
Jekerison Kilan, who played for the Sabah senior team from 1989 to 1998, as well as had a spell for Negri Sembilan, will be KDM’s candidate for the interior Pensiangan seat.
Besides him, KDM - led by Datuk Peter Anthony - also announced that Johair Matlani, the party vice-president, would be contesting the southwestern Beaufort parliamentary seat. “However, we have not decided on this. We will do so in one or two more days,” he said in a press conference at the KDM office here on Wednesday .
“We know our friends and voters in Keningau want us to stand there, but we will see. We’ll make a decision soon,” he said.
