Statistician Glen Thomas Heyen was charged with wilful and unlawful damage after a number of cars were allegedly keyed on a busy road.

A Queensland treasury bureaucrat has faced court, charged in relation to a string of car keying incidents on one of Brisbane's busiest bike routes.

Police allege a number of cars were scratched by a cyclist on Sylvan Road in Toowong between May and August this year. The road provides a link between the Western Freeway and Brisbane's CBD, and is frequented by cyclists, particularly for the morning commute. During peak hour, the stretch of road where the alleged offences took place becomes a clearway preventing cars from parking there between the hours of 6am and 9am.

Statistician Glen Thomas Heyen was charged in August, with four counts of wilful and unlawful damage of vehicles.
