GEORGE TOWN: The famous roti canai stall in Jalan Transfer has been slapped with a two-week closure for failing hygiene standards.

It is learned that health authorities from the north-east district Food Safety and Quality Department conducted an inspection of the premises at 11am on Monday .

A closure notice was issued with immediate effect under Section 11 of the Food Act 1983 and will be in force until Jan 16. A drinks stall next to the outlet was also fined RM500 as cross-contamination was found in its ice storage unit.
