ISKANDAR PUTERI: A total of RM1.3mil worth of traffic summonses were collected by the Johor police during the three-day 50% discount period that started on Friday (Sept 30).
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said that at the same time, only 26 summonses were paid out of a total of 109,758 summonses issued to Singaporean drivers.
"We will continue to conduct similar approaches and we hope that this will not only benefit our locals, but also road users from Singapore," he said. Some of the traffic offences include speeding, not wearing seatbelts, blocking traffic, and cutting queues.
