More than 70 firefighters are battling a blaze at a factory in Sydney's south-west, sparking traffic chaos amid the peak hour rush.
The fire broke out a large factory which produces white goods on Canterbury Road in Canterbury about 2am on Tuesday.
"Firefighting is continuing with multiple crews and an aerial appliance, traffic is heavy in the area," Fire and Rescue NSW said in an update. "We've had a couple of conjoining properties that were at risk including a residence at the rear but firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading...but geez it came awfully close to their homes," he said. "This factory is used to sell and service white goods and appliances for the home, so a high fuel loading and a very advanced fire."The blaze shutdown Canterbury Road in both directions between Fore st and Wonga St.
