Traders fined RM205,000 for flouting price control rules

COMPOUNDS worth RM205,000 were issued by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry against errant traders during the 10-day festive season price control scheme period starting May 20 for this year’s Aidilfitri, Kaamatan Festival and Gawai Day celebrations. Its deputy minister, Rosol Wahid, said the compounds were issued in 70 cases, mostly for selling controlled items, such as chicken, egg and vegetables, above the ceiling price.
