Commonwealth Bank’s Head of Australian Economics Gareth Aird says it’s almost a 50-50 call whether the Reserve Bank raises interest rates, despite the bank saying rates rises will likely hold.
He said the actions of other central banks lend weight to the RBA continuing to raise rates, but local
economic data shows sufficient signs of weakening to suggest the central bank will leave rates on hold.
