Tourism Ministry targets 900,000 Muslim tourists this year
Malaysia once again tops the list of Muslim-friendly tourism destinations based on the MasterCard-Crescent Rating Global Muslim Travel Index 2021. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, June 24, 2022.
She said this can be achieved by proactively promoting the country as a Muslim-friendly destination at the national and international levels. “It will also identify additional activities that can be carried out at 6,000 mosques nationwide, as an added value to existing promotions,” she told a press conference in Putrajaya today.The ministry is targeting for 230 million Muslim tourists by 2028, with projected revenue of US$225 billion .
