KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 ― The Enhanced Touch ‘n Go card that lets you reload directly from your NFC-enabled smartphone is perhaps still one of the hardest things to find right now in Malaysia. Despite being a huge upgrade for a near necessity that both motorists and public transport users need to have with them, the Enhanced Touch ‘n Go card remains hard to buy, with it almost always out of stock on the Touch ‘n Go eWallet Lazada store.

With that in mind, the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry had gotten in touch with Touch ‘n Go, calling for them to improve several aspects of their service. The ministry has now issued a statement regarding the matter, along with what Touch ‘n Go will be doing to improve supply of the Enhanced Touch ‘n Go card. According to the ministry’s statement, Touch ‘n Go will be increasing the number of cards produced for 2023 to 3.5 million, up from the 2.

On top of that, the ministry’s statement also addressed the confusion that may occur when your old Touch ‘n Go card expires. The company will apparently now proactively remind you of your registered card’s expiry date a month before it goes out of date by emailing the email address linked to your Touch ‘n Go account.

Furthermore, the statement claims that Touch ‘n Go will be working towards speeding up the refund process for cards with credit still left inside them. You may want to get a refund perhaps if your card is about to expire, or if you’re switching over to the new NFC-enabled Enhanced Touch ‘n Go card and. To do so, you will need to first register on the MyTouchnGo portal and then request a refund there.
