TNG eWallet, a popular e-payment platform in Malaysia, is set to launch a new feature called SOS Balance aimed at alleviating the frustration of drivers running out of credit at toll plazas. The feature will temporarily suspend toll fee charges, allowing users to pass through without interruption.

Congestion caused by drivers running out of credit at toll plaza s is a common frustration in Malaysia. Thankfully, TNG eWallet is set to introduce a solution called SOS Balance, a feature designed to address this issue. As the name suggests, SOS Balance temporarily suspends toll fee charges on the eWallet, allowing users who have inadvertently depleted their balance to pass through toll plaza s without interruption.

Users simply need to replenish their eWallet within 24 hours, and any outstanding fees will be automatically deducted. Initially, SOS Balance will be available only to loyal TNG eWallet users with a history of timely payments, frequent reloads, and active transaction usage. Eligible users will be automatically enrolled and notified via a push notification on their smartphones. The service will be suspended once the 24-hour grace period expires, after which users must reload their eWallet to continue using SOS Balance. Importantly, TNG eWallet will not impose any additional fees or interest on delayed payments. Users can monitor their outstanding SOS Balance toll payments by accessing the car icon on the app's main menu or a notification displayed below their eWallet balance. Similar to the regular eWallet, SOS Balance operates exclusively at toll plazas equipped with RFID lanes or PayDirect functionality; it does not apply to low TNG card balances. The official launch date for SOS Balance remains undisclosed.
