The atmosphere at the Malaysian Football Association (FAM) Congress is heating up as three former national players, including Datuk Dollah Salleh and Datuk Zainal Abidin Hassan, are rumored to be vying for contested positions.

The atmosphere at the Malaysia n Football Association ( FAM ) Congress is heating up as rumors swirl that three former national players are set to make a comeback by vying for contested positions. An internal FAM source did not rule out the possibility that the list circulating on social media, which names two former players, Datuk Dollah Salleh and Datuk Zainal Abidin Hassan, is accurate.

According to the list, former Harimau Malaya coach Dollah is rumored to be vying for the FAM Vice President position, while former Selangor manager Zainal is said to be eyeing the Exco position. “I can say that it is a list of one of the teams expected to contest at the FAM Congress. However, it is understood that Datuk Ramlan Askolani is also on the candidate list to contest for the FAM Exco position. “However, the list cannot be confirmed until the nomination forms are submitted to FAM,” he told Utusan Malaysia here yesterday. If all three former national players do contest, their nomination forms must be submitted by January 16th to participate in the FAM Congress scheduled for February 15th. The FAM election is expected to be fierce, and the association will see new leadership after Tan Sri Hamidin Mohd Amin confirmed he will not be defending his position. As a record, for the President position, a candidate wishing to contest for the coveted seat needs to obtain six endorsements to qualify. For the FAM Vice President position, an individual requires five nominations, followed by four for the Deputy President position and two nominations for the Exco (Executive Committee) position. -UTUSA
