Datuk Awang Hashim, an MP from Pendang, has been expelled from the House of Representatives for 10 days due to derogatory remarks made against the Speaker on TikTok. The Speaker of the House, Tan Sri Dr. Johari Abdul, made this decision based on Rule 44(2) of the Standing Orders.
In Kuala Lumpur , Datuk Awang Hashim , an MP from Pendang, was asked to leave the House of Representatives for 10 days after a TikTok video clip showed him making derogatory remarks towards the Speaker. The Speaker of the House, Tan Sri Dr. Johari Abdul, stated that Awang made negative comments concerning him on the application on July 18. He had sent a letter to Awang on July 22, asking him to retract his statements and apologize, but to no avail.
Hence, he ordered Awang to leave the House for 10 days based on Rule 44(2) of the Standing Orders
