The City of Cape Town announced that its Road Infrastructure Management Department will soon commence with the refurbishment of a section of Beach Road in Strand.
Regular road maintenance is not only pivotal in prolonging the City’s road network, but also improves the overall safety of road users, said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Rob Quintas.
During this period, motorists should consider using alternative routes, where possible, to avoid unnecessary delays and inconvenience, Quintas adds. “We will have flag personnel directing traffic flow through temporary detours around the construction area. “We urge residents and motorists to comply with the signage displayed around the construction area, reduce their speed and exercise extra caution while work is underway,” Quintas expressed.
