The beloved singer has shed more than 15kg since embarking on her health journey. How did she do it?
she had tried not to rely too much in the past on what she weighed, but how healthy she could be.“I think we’ve lost our way a little bit with all these fad diets, which tell you how to lose weight but not how to sustain it, or how to look after yourself after the fact.
“I like to focus on one thing at a time, because my life is so manic and I’m doing lots of things all of the time,” she said.“It’s free, you can do it anywhere and you can do it at any time of the day or night - so long as you’re safe.”During the worst of the pandemic, when the entertainment industry was quite literally shut down, Donovan relocated to Geelong and worked a nine-to-five job, meaning her life was structured enough to fit in regular pilates classes.
“Most of us, once we feel it’s a chore, it becomes something we have to do rather than something we want to do. Some of the meals seen included breakfasts consisting of banana bread, wholegrain toast, fruit, cereals including Nutri-Grain, and baked beans.Donovan said that each breakfast she consumed included a serving of dairy, either milk or yoghurt. The lunch options were either a ham and cheese toastie, pesto pasta, pork bun, burritos or a frittata. Finally, dinner ranged from chicken curry, beef pastie or satay chicken to roast chicken and vegetables.
